CABINET MINISTER RESIGNS.
SIR PHILIP CTJNLIFFE-LISTER. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, August 11. , ■Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister, formerly Rγ Philip Lloyd-Graeme (President of the Board of Trade), has handed his resignation to Mr. Baldwin (Prime Minister). Sir Philip resigns because Ilia wife is a large shareholder in Yorkshire coalmines, and he fears that this fact might embarrass the Government in connection with the recent coal settlement Mr. Baldwin has not yet accepted the resignation, and is inquiring into the legal aspect of the matter.—A. and X.Z.
