THORNTON BRIDGE.
TO BE REBUILT. £J1 CBy Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAKATAXE, this day. Thornton bridge, which was damaged during the recent floods, has been repaired and was open to light traffic today. During rebuilding operations it was found that some of the stringers were unsound, and all traffic will now use the bridge at the driver's risk. The Public Works Department will completely rebuild the bridge on the arrival of hardwood timber from Australia.
