PRESS CABLE RATES.
SUBSTANTIAL REDUCTIONS. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, August «. Mr. Campbell Stuart (Canadian representative of the Pacific Cable Board) haß been interestng himself vigorously in the reduction of Press cable ratesbetween Canada and Australia, and consequently the board, in pursuance of its policy of affording cheap transmission of Empire Press messages, had reduced the rate on August 1 between Canada and Australia and New Zealand from 5d to 4d a word. It decided to further reduce the rate from August 10 to 3ja, "with a rate from Vancouver reduced to 2|d.—(A. and tf.Z. Cable.)
