FALL FROM A BRIDGE.
MAN'S NECK BROKEN. BODY FOUND IN RIVER , . CBy Telegraph-.—Press Association.) CARTERTON, this day. Charles William Burke, a scrub cutter, aged 52, mot withAk death at Ruakakapatuna, MaTtinborough, on Wednesday. He left camp on Monday, and on his failing to return a search party was formed. Burkes body was found in the Ruakakapatuna River, with hie neck broken. The approach to the bridge had become slippery and dangerous owing to wet weather, and-it is surmised that deceased lost hiis Jfooting and fell over the bank into thw river, breaking his neck. An inquest was - held yesterday, when a verdict was returned that death was due to a broken neck and drowning.
