VEHICLES WORTH £100.000.

A RECORD DISPLAY

All the work in connection with the big motor show which opens to-morrow evening on Prince's wharf has now been practically completed. To-day and tomorrow morning will see the individual stand holders get their exhibits finally arranged. Even- indication points to an extremely successful exhibition, and in many ways the show will be a record one. Splendid arrangements in connection with the parking of visitors' cars have been made. Two first-class orchestras under the direction of Mr. Gordon Eady have been engaged- An up-to-date and efficiently conducted restaurant has been fitted up, the catering arrangements being in the hands of a well-known Auckland catering specialist. A total floor space in the two sheds of 102.000 square feet is beinp utilised for the display of the 200 modern motor vehicles which arc being exhibited. The value of these vehicles is in the region of £100,000, and most of the world's leading manufacturers are represented. The motor film. "The Story of the Petrol Engine," which is showing in conjunction with the Olympia, is a yerj interesting and informative production. This picture was produced by the United States Government Department of the Interior, and it records a wonderful story of progress, a romance of acni-.;ve-ment, a narrative made possible by the work of engineers and inventors, who for nearly half a century have been developing a product from a plaything to a business and social necessity. The picture will be showing twice daily until Thursday next, and the Olympia Exhibition will be opened daily from 10.30 a.m. to 10 p.m., concluding on Saturday week, August 15.
