BLUEBOTTLE'S PATE.
CONDEMNED BY QUEEN.
LONDON, July 21
The Queen, while inspecting the Royal Society's scieutific exhibits, watched a captive bluebottle under an instrument for recording gas, which it gave off.
With some concern. Her Majesty asked whether the bluebottle suffered, and when told that it was uninjured and would be released that evening, she said: "I think it should be killed, because it is most important to kill as many flies as possible."
The official replied: "The death sen tence shall be carried out."
