COW GOES MAD.
CREATES SENSATION AT SALE.
WOMAN MADLY INJURED,
A sensational accident resulting in serious injuries to Miss H. Kelso, of Tamahere, - .and minor injuries to her sister,- somewhat marred a sale conducted at Tamahere yesterday of Mr. F. E. Day's Pencarrow Jersey herd. A timid" cow was being led into the marquee when it went mad on- sightjing the crowd: Breaking loose from.its attendant, it careered wildly around the ring. Seeing no exit "the infuriated' animal reared on the tiers of seats. The Misses Kelso were sitting sit the spot selected by the aniriialfor its wild-west display. The elder of the two ladies waa forcibly hit on the head by the cow's horn and sustained concussion, while she was also injured about the body by the animal's hoofs. The younger Miss Kelso was thrown to the "ground and appeared certain of being seriously hurt, when the animal was overpowered, . The conquest came only in time to prevent a riot. The injured were conveyed to Mr. Day's residence riearby, and after medical atention, they were taken to their home.
