SYDNEY, July 24.
Declaring that he: had come to Australia to start;a/revolution, Noel Lyons, the New • Zealand .deportee, who is not taken too seriously this -side Of the world, had some harsh things to say about the country which got rid of him. Lyons-was met on -arrival by an admiring ,'thrbng, evidently of : his own following,. to ' whom he discoursed on the ills of mankind and discussed generally. th*woes-of;the Working class.
He.openly declared that New Zealand Was too' old-fashioned ••: for .him.. The •people were, not, a-hit;-inclined to part from- their time-honoured traditions. "New Zealand is more conservative than England;''-he v said. .."They regarded mc as . a foreigner. An Australian, mind you, n.foreigner! It. is too funny for words. ' When I Was-"on my way to France as an. Australian soldier, they did not say I was an undesirable.. .Qh, upi'l was. <»ni of thfc heroes of the. hour. But how, when l;puf< up a bit; of .a figbt for humanity, they ■ turn •mc .out of the country. Never-min'd.. 'One of. these days NeW Zealand will- wake' up. :
