Though the distribution of preferences has still to be completed in a number of electorates, and in one or two cases the issue is still in doubt, with the probability of Labour getting another scat in Xewcastle, the position of liartics now is: — Labour 45 Xationalists 32 Progressives 10 Independents 2 Protestant-Labour 1 Should Labour secure Xewcastle the state of the parties will be: — Labour 40 Anti-Labour 44 The defeat of the Government is now regarded as certain.
