WOOL CRUTCHINGS.
SALE ABANDONED
The Wellington woolbrokers intended holding a crutchings sale this month, but owing to the very limited quantity available, it is not considered worth while holding tho sale, says the "Dominion," and it adds: It is possible that a sale of crutchings will be held in August, but that will depend upon the quality of wool available. It seems that Napier woolbrokers are having the same experience, and no sale will be held at Napier this month. Those interested in the wool trade are wondering when the wool market will show signs of recovery. No change is anticipated at the London sales next month; on tlie contrary, owing to the European and North American clips being available, prices may go even lower. A good many fancied that values would improve at tlie September sales in London, but this view is being abandoned, and it is now thought that the November sales will see the beginning of an upward movement. The strong statistical position which served as the basis for advancing prices is not now existing, but hopes of improvement are based on the probability that current low prices will stimulate consumption and increase the demand.
