CARS AND CANTABS.
I PROCTORIAL PROHIBITION. (Received 2.30 p.m.) LOX'DON, June 7. The Senate of the Cambridge University adopted the proctorial syndicate's motor recommendations. • Undergraduates arc also forbidden to drive in hired vehicles without insurance against third party risks. It is estimated that 1500 undergraduates drive cars at Cambridge.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) The prohibition was made by tho proctors on the allegation that in some cases the cars were used by undergraduates to take women who were not considered fit companions for them out into the country. It was necessary, according to the proctors, to make the prohihition general in order to prevent an abuso that was not common.
