A CAUCUS TCESOLCTION. The following resolution was passed nt the Keforni caucus: — "The members of the Reform party assembled for the pad duty of naming a successor to their late honoured leader desire before entering upon any Imsineei to unite in a message of true sympathy to his willow ami family. Each of us t> the end of hi- life vvil'l bear in grateful memory Mr. Map-ey'd manly. straightforward, unselfish course of tonduct in public life and bis contempt for mean practices and devious ways. We knew him hs free from exultation in -v.cess as he bad been undaunted by adversity, and so he gamed and kept to tho ond the complete trust and confidence of all hi« followers. Hut even more wo honour the memory of the man himself. ami bear in mind our personal association with tho cheerful, happy. unassuming way of life of that great kindly mnn—n staunch friend to his friends and without malice against his opponents. Others present with u= at this meetins. though not members of the party Mr. Massey led. are nt one with n= in this. We who have been privileged to serve with him in public life mid have been honoured by his friendship trust that those of his home and kin who nre suffering a heavier personal grief will realise that we share their sorrow." The members of the party, standing nnd in silence, agreed that this message .should be forwarded to Mrs. Massey nmi the relatives of the deceased Prime Minister.
