The Arbitration Court bad two points submitted to it liy common consent with regard to the Hikurangi mines. One was l what the pillar rat,- should be seeing that two rales are provided for iv the award. The Court decided that all pillar places must be regarded ns nine-foot places, nnd paid for accordingly. The other poinl was whether the thickness of fireclay should be included The Court 7 decided that fireclay could not lv- taken int., account when determining- ihe tonnage of coal.
