WHANGAREI MEETING.
I (FTOm Our Own Correspondent.) TVIIAXGAREI, Thursday. At a special committee meeting of the Whansarci Kaeing Clnb to-day it was decided thnt for the one day meeting on May 9 the club will forego the usual charging fee of £1 for stabling horses at I the club's stables, in view of the fact that owners will only be availing themselves of this accommodation for a short time. In addition to the special passenger race train from Auckland, a strong effort is being made by the club to run a special horse train, leaving Auckland on Friday. ] the day before the meeting, and to return ) immediately after the meeting is con- ] eluded. This will admittedly be contingent on the number of Auckland horses competing, but if known beforehand will undoubtedly provide a filip to the entries. The preparations at Kensington Park, where the meeting will tie held, are well advanced, it being reported that the course will bo in splendid condition.
