FILM STAR WEEPS.
LXIXIAN GISH'S ENGAGEMENT. NEW YORK, March 31. Lillian Oi&h, the Him actress,' shed tenr.s in the Court during the hearing of the suit to annul her contract with Charles Duell, picture producer, when Duell related the story of their engagement. Duell said he was "unofficially" engaged for 11 months, until he obtained a divorce. He said the engagement was broken by mutual consent four months later. Miss Gish covered her face with her hands during the evidence of Duell, whose statements were given reluctantly. He said Miss Gish's finances were low in 1923, when she went to Europe, and that his loans, amounting to several thousand dollars, were never repaid.
