COLONEL DENNISTOUN.
FILM ACTRESS' CLAIM. FOR BREACH OF PROMISE. XEW YORK. March 30. According to the Xew York "American," Lois Meredith, a film actress, is preparing to sue Colonel Dennistoun. defendant in the recent society case before the London Courts, for breach of promise. Dudley Field Malone, an attorney, stated in Paris on Friday that a woman now in the United States was planning to sue Colonel Dennistoun. Dennistoun, during the hearing of the London ease, referred to an unmarried woman from whom he "expected trouble."
The Xew York "American" says Meredith identified Dennistoun through the cables regarding the case. Mr. Malone said he had "a hundred letters" from Dennistoun, which would be produced in Court, holding that many contained derisive references to Lady Caa narvon.
Colonel lan Dennistoun, huslmn-l ot Almina, widow of Lord Carnarvon, wae sued by his former wife, who divorced him in Paris, for £1052, which, it was alleged, she had lent him. She also asked for an order for the fulfilment of a promise to support her, alleged to have been made by Dennistoun at the time of the divorce. The jury, after answering ten questions put to it by Mr. Justice MeCardie, awarded Mrs. Dennistoun £5000 damages.
