FAIR TYPES SCARCE. LONDON, March 27. Probably because the modern girl hna such a good time that she does not need to join the chorus to escape the puritanism of the home circle, there is a great shortage of chorus girls. This, however, should not be taken as an invitation to girls from the Dominions with glorious hair, pearly teeth, an entrancing; smile, 'bewitching figure, and a seraphic voice, to rush to London, since, despite lucky or meritorious exceptions, mere beauty finds it harder to secure an entry to the stage in London than anywhere else. Theatrical managers say they can find prettier girls in the teashops than among those who seek auditions. TJerently one was chosen of 300 offering. Many of the pre-war chorus girls entered offices, and have not returned to the stage, despite the good salaries and inducements there. "Mr. Andre Chariot, the theatrical entrepreneur, says that the eupply of fair gills so popular with stage managers has decreased, because fewer girls use peroxide since bobbing and shingling became the vogue.
