MANUREWA TOWN BOARD.
A mooting f>f the Town Board was held on Monday evening, the members present being the chairman (Mr, A. ('. A. Sextun) and Messrs McCallum. (iallaher, Cox, P.utterwoith, Fawcett, Wbyto, and the clerk .(Mr. 11. Kay). Auckland City By-laws.—Advice was rorpivpcl .from the Public Works Department of nn'Order-ln-Conncil extending the operation of the Auckland City heavy traffic licenses jvithin the urea from the northern bauudary of the Waitemata County to the southern boundary of the Franklin County. It was decided ro nek both the Department and the City Council what share of the fees received will be payable to the Board. Timber Carting.—ln reply to the Hoard's letter, the Manukan County Council declined to confer on the matter of royalty on timber carting. After some discussion it was decided that a royalty of 4d per 100 ft he levied in. respect of extraordinary tiaflic caused by the hauling of timber to Manurewa Station. Hall Entrance.— At. the suggestion of the schoolmaster (Mr. l>. XioNanghton) it was decided to have preliminary work done to allow the school children to carry out beantiflcation work around the entrance to the Public Hall. Prime Minister.—lt was unanimously resolved that a letter be sent to Mr. Massej sympathising with him in his present illness; and hoping for his speedy recovery.
