POULTRY IX BIG SUPPLY.

Poultrymen all seemed to leave the disposal of their (Easter birds to the last minute, for there was an oversupply at the City Markets to-day, and prices suffered accordingly, although fair rates were realised for prime stuff. Geeae were brought forward in large numbers, turkeys were plentiful, and other birds overfilled the pens. Sales were:—Geese, 3/4 to 4/3; turkey gobblers, 7/9 to 11/6; hens, 4/3 to 6/8; fat cockerels, 6/ to 6/6; unfattened, 4/ to 5/G; small, 2/6 to 3/; fat ducks, 3/ to 3/6; old, 2/4 to 2/9; fat hens, 3/G to 3/9; light, 2/3 to 2/9. Eggs were in short supply, and high prices were realised:—Hen, 2/9 to 2/10J; duck, 2/7 to 2/8*; pullet, 2/5 to 2/G*. There was a medium supply of farmers' 'butter, which realised from 1/3 to 1/5, averaging 1/3 A. There were large supplies of vegetables, including some cauliflowers which brought up to 1/5 each. Fruit was plentiful, but very good prices were realised.
