SOME RICH PEOPLE. FORTY MAKE £100,000 A YEAR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Income tax returns shoxv that 41 persons averaged over a hundred thousand yearly, paying tax on a total of nearly five "millions. Out of 74,700 person! making returns, only 36,091 paid tax, the rest escaping through reductions and exemptions bringing them below the minimum. The largest number of taxpayers were those xvith incomes from £300 to £099.
