ORGANISED EXPULSION.
RELIGIOUS WAR. POSITION OF ALLIES. (By Cable. —rress Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, February 4. The diplomatic correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph." in referring to the expulsion from Turkey of the Greek Patriarch, Monsignor Constantino, remarks that the day has apparently gone when the protection of Christian minorities in Turkey was officially regarded as of primary concern to the' British <o>vcrnmont and people. The correspondent says it is very significant that the orthodox Jews in Turkey are manifesting very considerable sympathy with Greece. Kvidently fears are entertained that the Grand Ral.inate may meet with a fate similar to that of the Greek Patriarchate. It is learned that the Allied Covernments are closely watching the situation. No serious development is anticipated proveded that the matter is carefully handled. A message from Paris states that .Tevad Bey (Turkish Ambassador I visited the Quai d'Orsay antl discussed the dispute over the Patriarch's expulsion with the French Premier (M. Herriotl, Jevad Bey declared that Turkey would refuse to consent to any intervention by the Hague Tribunal, ns hud been proposed by Greece. — lA. and N.Z. and Renter.)
