OBITUARY.
THE BARON YOKATA. -Received 11 a.m.l TOKYO, February 4. Baron Sennosuke Yokata, Minister of Justice), the mainstay of the Seiyukai party, died from pneumonia. His death is regarded as a serious loss in political circles, where he was always considered a possible Premier.— (Reutcr.) MR. JOHN LANE. LONDON, February 4. The death is announced of Mr. John Lane, the well-known publisher.—'".Sun." Mr. John I.ane, who was born in Devon in March, 1851, was the joint founder, with Mr. Elkin Mathews, of the Bodley Head publishing business in 1887. He dissolved the partnership in ISOJ, and had since conducted the firm's operations in Vigo Street, London. He was the founder of the Yellow Book in 1804. Mr. Lane edited and wrote the introduction to "Life of Sir Thomas Bodley,'' and also edited "Memoirs of the Count de Cartrie."' He was a collector of art treasures.
