Reform Association yesterday, and it was decided to send a letter to the Minister in charge of the Kl.-.-toral Department to the rfleet that I lie general opinion of the meeting was that not one in ten of the electors of New- Zealand know that they are automatically removed from all rolls, or that they are personally responsible f,,,- scouring their own enrolment nnd an- liable to he fined if not enrolled before March 0. "It is hel.l that the mere leaving of form-, ni I lie doors by the Postal Department, with a printed leaflet settins .on the position of the electors in formal terms, is not .-iiflieient notice or warning t., ihe individual." states this association; "therefore it respectfully suggests that the Kl.-.-toral Department should send personal notification tn every elector who recorded a vote at ihe last election and whose enrolment application under the new system has nol come to hand liy the Kith of this month ( February i. issuing a warning in emphatic lerms that a breach of the law will Le committed unless the application for enrolment is made before March 0. "The executive is confident that unless t iii- step is taken and much greater publicity given to the position of citizens under the Act. a very unsatisfactory state ~f adair* will be created.
