UNIVERSAL SUPERANNUATION.
♦ i i ■—■ — SCHEME IN PREPARATION. PENSION FOR EVERYBODY. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") THAME?, this day. A universal superannuation scheme for everybody in the Dominion will be introduced by the lion. G. J. Anderson, Minister of Pensions, during the coming session of Parliament. The Minister, speaking at Thames last evening, said he would be occupied during the next six months preparing a scheme which would be in the nature of compulsory old-age superannuation. He wanted to relieve the mind of everyone from the fear of want in their declining years. It was not a party tnat'.er. Speaking to the "Auekand Star's" representative, the Minister stated that no attempt would be made to put the scheme on the Statute Book this year, but by bringing it forward the public would have an opportunity of expressing its views upon the proposition. He added that he was also engaged upon amendments to the Workers' Compensation Act.
