SEIZURE BY CUSTOMS.

eiLK BLOUSES NOT DECLARED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A Customs officer, Mr. C. Galley, seized over one hundred pounds' worth of silk blouses, alleged to be undeclared by a man and his wife who had just arrived from Melbourne by the Moeraki. It appears that the persons concerned had landed their luggage from the vessel, and it is alleged that they were asked by the Customs official whether they had anything dutiable in their lugage. They omitted to declare the silk blouses, which are new. Mr. Galley searched their belongings and found the blouses, which were thereupon seized. The incident may lead to prosecution.
