ARTIFICIAL PETROL.
" FACTORIES EVERYWHERE." LONDON, October 11. M. Daniel Berthelot, the famous French chemist, states that recent experiments" by a number of French chemists in regard to the production of motor spirit from animal and vegetable substances have been crowned with success. According to the Paris correspondent of the "Times," M- Berthelot says: "In less than five years you will see factories for the production of artificial petrol going up throughout the country and in competition effectively with natural petrol."
