ENGLISH HOP CROP.
GREATEST ON RECORD. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, October 21. The Ministry of Agriculture reports that the hop crop has proved much larger than was anticipated before picking commenced. It is now estimated to yield J. 7.2 cwt per acre, by far the heaviest yield ever recfrded. The previous 'best was 14.2, in 1005. It is estimated that this season's crop •will total 445,000 cwt.—(A. and N.Z.)
