Wintry weather was experienced a Auckland over the week-end, while tin conditions to-day showed but little iin provement. When the observations were taken a 9 a.m. to-day the wind had gone rminc to the west, while the barometer stooc at 2U.20 inches, and was still falling \i 2 p.m. the mercury had descended to th< unusually low level of 29.10 inches The rainfall over the week-enc amounted to l.OOin, .88 of this total hay inj; fallen during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday. The fall for th« month to date now stands at 4.38 in. Reports from country districts indicat* that wintry conditions are general ovei the whole of the province. At Hamiltoi on Saturday the adveree condition* caused a postponement of a militar? parade and all tennis and bowline fixture*, while wet and boisterous weithei has prevailed at MorrinS\llo durinsr the past fortnight. * hi rimeidtatm
