THE RUSSIAN LOAN.
LONDON, October 19. Mr. Philip Snowden speaking at Leeds lid: "If I am Chancellor of the Exhequer there will he no loan to Russia vithout substantial security, making efault practically impossible." Mr. G. Bernard Shaw, speaking at Northampton, said: "ft would be better o lend Russian £30.000,000 than to brow that sum away on demoralising lolcs." He condemned the strong anguage used in the campaign by Mr. Asquith, Lord Birkenhead, and* Mr. \Yinston Churchill as being calculated lo have a bad effect in Russia and endanger the pence of the world.— (A. and N.Z.
