■-• ■ - AUCKLAND PROVINCIAL TITLE. ROBERTS LEADS IN FINAL. The finul of the Auckland provincial amateur championship for the Billiard?, Limited. Shield, was commenced last evening at the showrooms of Billiards. Limited. 'Ihe finalists. E. V. Roberts and E. J. Morrison, attracted a crowded house, including many ladies. Both players played an open game, and a splendid exhibition of firstclass billiards was the result. Roberta played more consistently than his opponent, and gained a good lead for the final session, which takes place this evening. The session points are: —Roberts, ,-.04, in hand; Morrison. 270. The former's best breaks were : —25, 08, 20. 36, 62, 37„ 73. 31, and 24. and averaged .12. Morrison's best were :—3l, 33, 35, and 20.
