SAN FRANCISCO'S THANKS.
TO NEW ZEALAND PEOPLE. While he was in San Francisco Mr. H. H. de Costa, of Gisborne, who returned by the Niagara this morning from a pleasure trip, had letters of introduction to Mr. James Rolfe, the Mayor of that city, who was recently in Wellington, and who is always so kind to any New Zealanders that he meets. Mr. de Costa wae present by invitation at a meeting of the San Francisco City Council, and the members asked him to tell the people of New Zealand, and particularly Wellington, where Mr. Rolfe called, how much the people of San Francisco appreciated the splendid reception their Mayor had received at the hands of the New Zealandere. Mr. De Costa says they spoke most feelingly, and were very desirous that New Zealand should know that the kindness shown was not thrown away.
