TROUT FISHING.
Regulations have been gazetted for issuin" licenses to fish for trout in the Bay of Island Acclimatisation District. I The period is from October 1 to April 30 or 10 r a half-year from February 1 to April 30. Tho fee for a wholeseason license for men is 20/, halfi season 12/0; women's whole-season licenses are to be issued for 5/. Tower is also "iven to issue a license to vistiors for 2/6 for one day. It is provdcd : that only natural or artificial flies are to be used. The use of a set rod and line is prohibited, as well as such shellfish as koura, houhou, or the matai grub. From May 1 to September 30 is declared a close season. Trout not exceeding eleven inches must be returned alive to tbe water. Xo trout is to be sold, and not more than 25 must be caught iii any one day. J Penalty for breaches of these regulations are not less than £3, or more than £50.
