A HOUSE UNROOFED.
FLOODS AT AWAROA. (From Onr Own Correspondent.) WHEXUANUI, Monday. The high winds last Friday night unroofed a shed at Tyler's and completely unroofed Mr. J. Ball's new house at Naumai. Numerous trees were uprooted and telegraph wires broken, making communication with Auckland very uncertain. At Awaroa abnormally high tides broke the stop-bank and the country is under several feet of water. So far but few losses of stock have been reported. People living at Hori Hori are surrounded with water, and it will be some days before it subsides. A slip on the Kaipara line, near Wellsford, interrupted tbe running of the Huarau train last Saturday, passengers having to travel overland to Ruawai and take the boat to Helensville.
DAMAGE TO LAUNCHES AT DEVONFOrcT. The Governor-General's 14-foot onedesi<»n boat, Iron Duke, only escaped sharing the fate of the Wild Duck and the other vessels which were wrecked ■by the promptitude of one of the officers of H.M.e. Philomel.
