A BIG BANG.
TEN TONS OF MELINITE. BOUND-WAVE EXPERIMENTS. (Received 11 a.m.) # PARIS, May IH. Ten tons of melinite were exploded in La Contine and provided a big bang. Listening posts on the ground and in the air were established in most countries in Europe, with the object of studying the behaviour of sound Avaves. The experiment is under official international auspices, and a continuation of the test made at Oldebroeck in Holland in 1922. Similar explosions are 1 arranged for Friday and Saturday.— (A. and N.Z.)
