ANCIENT ORDER OF FORESTERS.
A Court of the Order of Foresters was ooenefi last night in tbe Congregational lHall, New Lvnn. A large number of tile brethren accompanied the district officers from town for tbe opening ceremony. Tbe members of Court Pride of Henderson, who have been very active iv promoting the establishment of the new Court, were present. The District Chief Ranger. Bro. W. A. Knagas. conducted the proceedings. He was ably assisted by Bro. .1. P McPhall. D S.C'.R., Bro. C. A: Watts, D.5.8.. Bro. Trebilcoek, D.J.8.. Bro. K. G. Bentley, D.T., and Bro. R. Darlow, District Secretary. The dispensation issuecl by the Executive Council of tha Order in London was read and the Court formally constituted under the kiihe ot "Court Pride of New Lynn, Xo. 9867." After a number of candidates had been initiated the following officers were elected: Chief Hanger. Bro. W. Bodley (appointed by the District Executive); Sub Chief Ranger, Bro. Cantwell; Senior "Woodward, Bro. G. Aims worth;- .Tunior Woodward, Bro. Berkeley: Senior Beadle; ] Bro. Eave: .Tunior Beadle, Bro. Gunter; Secretary-treasurer, Bro. E. Greenslade. The company was afterwards entertained at supper, Bro. W. Bodley presiding. The toasts of the King, the Ancient Order of Foresters and success to Court Fride of New Lynn, .were enthusiastically received and responded to. Bro. Bodley, on behalf of Court Pride of New Lynn, thanked the D.C.R. Bro. Knaggs for his donation of a handsome pair of gavels, and the District Secretary Bro. Darlow for his donation of a set of odes. Bro. Darlow, An his reply, especially thanked the members of Court Pride of Henderson for their valuable assistance and appealed to those present to get the missionary spirit and extend the* benign influence of the Order.
