ANCIENT ORDER OF FORESTERS.
m A Court or the Order of Foresters was opene- last night in the Congregational lHall. New Lynn. A large number of tbe brethren accompanied the district officers from town for the opening ceremony. The members of Court Pride of Henderson, who have been very active in promoting the establishment of the new Court, were -present. The District Chief Ranger, Bro. W. A. Knaggs. conducted the proceedings. He was ably assisted by Bro. J. P. McPhaU. D S.C.R., Bro. C. 'Al Watts, D.5.8., Bro. Trebilcoct, D.J.8.. Bro. B. G. Bentley, D.T., and Bro. R. Darlow, District Secretary. The dispensation issue- by the Executive Council of th» Order in London was read and the Court formally constituted under the mime of "Court Pride of New Lynn, No. 9867." After a number of candidates had been Initiated the following officers were elected: Chief Ranger. Bro. W. Bodley (appointed by the District. Executive); iSub Chief Ranger, Bro. Cantwell; Senior "Woodward, Bro. G. Ainsworthr Junior Woodward, Bro. Berkeley; Senior Beadle? -tro. Eave: Junior Beadle, Bro. G—iter; Secretary-treasurer, Bro. E. Greenslade. The company was afterwards entertained at snpper, Bro. W. Bodley presiding. The toasts of the King, the Ancient Order of Foresters and success .to Court Pride of New Lynn, ..were enthusiastically received and responded to. Bro. Bodley, on behalf of Court Pride of New Lynn, thanked the D.C.R. Bro. Knaggs for his donation of a handsome . pair .of gavels; and the District Secretary Bro. Darlow for his donation of a set of odes. . Bro. Darlow, An bis reply, especially thanked the members of Court Pride of Henderson for their valuable assistance and appealed to those present to get the missionary spirit and extend i tbe - benign- influence of the Order.
