THE NAVY AT HOCKEY.
CLOSE GAME WITH AUCKLAND. A hockey match was played at Remuera yesterday, afternoon between teams representing the Navy and Auckland. The game was keen and exciting throughout, and although Auckland won by 4 goals to -3 it was generally conceded that the stick work of the visitors and their showing in the finer points of the game were superior to the exhibition given by the Aucklanders. The local score was compiled entirely in the first half, the naval visitors being on the offensive practically throughout the second spell. They just failed to even up the score and the game ended in a local victory by 4 goals to 3. E. Watt (2), D. Alexander and C.
