Captain P. Theet, who is the retiring chairman of the Waitemata County Council, presided to-day over his last meeting of the council, and thanked bis colleagues for tbe respect, courtesy, and assistance accorded him during his term o. office. Acknowledgment was made by Mr. Lang, on behalf of the members, and the secretary, Mr. Cawkwell. voiced the regret of the staff, who had found Captain Theet a stern disciplinarian, but a considerate taskmaster.
