Captain P. Theet, who is the retiring chairman of the Waitemata County Council, presided to-day over his last meeting of the council, and thanked his colleagues for the. respect, courtesy, and , assistance accorded him during his term i o. office. Acknowledgment was made by Mr. Lang, on behalf of the members, I and the secretary, Mr. Cawkwell. voiced the regret- of the staff, who had found Captain Theet a Etern disciplinarian, but a .considerate taskmaster.
