Somerset scored 205 against Surrey, Lyon making 95 and Shepherd taking four wickets for 58 runs. Surrey scored 11 for no wickets.
In the Essex v. Leicestershire match, Essex scored 140 for six wickets (Nicholas 62).
Cambridge University, against Yorkehire, scored 111. Rhodes took six •wickets for 22 runs. Yorkshire scored 89 for two wickets.
Playing for Gloucester, Tate secured six wickets for 24 runs against Northants.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
