ONE. TREE HILL.

The first meeting of the One Tree Hill Road Board since the last board election, was held last evening. The chairman, Mr. X G Clark, and Messrs. C. L. Mclntoeh, F. Chapman, C. Kowe, H. K. Clayton, C. Purcbaa and J. M. WUson were present. The new member of the board, Sir. Wilson, was welcomed by the chairman.

Drainage.-fcfhe engineer reported that he had made anplication to the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board for the inclusion of the Western Drainage Area in the Drainage Board's area. He had also interviewed the' Commissioner of Crown Lande regarding a site for the automatic electric pumps, near Harden Avenue, who had instructed him to take the land under the Pnblic Worke Act, at the same time assuring the engineer that the Crown would do nothing to. hinder the board in obtaining the land, provided it could ' satisfactorily, deal with the lessee. The engineer recommended that .a special committee be set up to deal with-the matter, and this was approved. ' ; ... ■■ . Moana Avenue. —The work of grading and metallintf Moana Avenue and Athens Road had been put in land, about is chains in Athens Road being completed, but a delay has now occurred owing to. a breakdown In the crußher. ~ S3 .

Building Permits.—The building inspector reported that during the last weeks 10 building permits had been issued to the value of £4938. •■■' ■.■■:.■ '■'.■'■

Loon. —The State Advances office wrote stating that the board's applk- ttiori for. a drainage reticulation loan would be duly considered. The members of the board will make a tour of the district on ,Saturday, afternoon next. . i '...-. ': . -
