DANGEROUS CROSSINGS.
MENTION BY MOTORISTS,
In reply to the New Zealand Automobile Union, which asked for a list of dangerous railway crossings, the Auckland. Automobile Association, which mot last evening under the presidency of Mr. J. A. Warnock, named as menaces to public safety the crossings at the Mount Albert - Point Chevalier Road, New Lynn, Penrose, Massey Road, Mangere, and King Street, Newmarket.
The matter of the association officially recommending country hotels to motorists was referred to the Legislative Committee, one member declaring that the incorporation of the names of reputable hotels in a handbook would prove of great assistance to motorists.
The necessity of- levelling and forming the incline known as Cordroy Hill, which proved such an obstacle at the recent Muriwai Beach motor race meeting, was discussed, and Sir. G. H. Henning was deputed to inform the Motutara Road Board that if it undertook the work the association would make a grant of £2-) towards it, and also advance £25 of the board's share of the takings at tile next motor meetjng. Eighteen new members were elected.
