RIFLE SHOOTING
AUCKLAND V. H.M.S. HOOD.
VISITORS DEFEATED.
A competition between teams representing H.M.s. Hood and the Auckland Rifle Association was decided at Penrose yesterday. The firing was carried out on the 200 and 300 yard ranges, service conditions being observed. The match resulted In a win for the local men, the best individual scores being Atkinson, Spry, and Wright, all of the Auckland association, who tied with an aggregate ~f 66 nut of a possible 80. For the Navy team Ordinary Seaman R. Taylor, Marine Lowman, and Chief Petty Officer Causley scored 62. 59, and 58 respectively, all winning trophies. The special trophy for the 200 yard range was won by Marine Snow, while that for the 300 yards went to Able Seaman Mason. Following are the Individual scores:—
