In spite of the fact that several cases of theft from city hotels have been reported recently, there arc still people who leave sums of money or valuables lying abput while they are absent, and retire leaving money, etc., in their clothes. On the night of the 20th instant a visitor from the country was relieved of £35, which had been left in a wallet in his coat pocket. The wallet was found on the floor, with the sum of £5 untouched.
