USEFUL SERVICES ARRANGED FILLING THE GAPS. THROUGH TO THE SOUTH. Every metpr cpnveyance that can be brought into service is being tuned up to-day tp fill the gap 3on the suburban train lines, and sp far as can be ascertained there has been incenvenience undoubtedly, but no serious dislocation. Services have been augmented to the districts in close proximity to the tram termini, and arrangements are being made to accommodate people more remote from the city. The A.A.R.D. Co., which has a network of services in the North Island, is making special arrangements for the districts in and outside the province, and this remark applies also to other motor proprietors. Places along the Southern Main Trunk and Northern line have been connected by motors and char-a-bancs, while powerful motors are running twice daily to Hamilton. At Hamiltpn cpnnectiens can be made for Te Kuiti and Rotorua. There is a service also tp Helensville and districts along the Nprthern line. Main Trunk Alternative. It is understood that the motor service from New Plymouth to Wellington has been supplemented, and people who wish to get to the ether end of the island will be able to do so by a combined water and motor journey. The Rarawa left Onehunga this afternoon for New Plymouth, and is <Jue back on Thursday morning. In the afternoon she wilt sail again, and if the strike continues she will probably make a third trip on Sunday. In connection with the many services which are being arranged, Olesen's buses are advertised to run a service from Papatoetoe to Onehunga Post Office. Motors will leave Papatoetoe at 7 and 8 o'clock in the morning and will return about 5.30 and 6.30 at- night.
