TWENTY FIREMEN KILLED.
BURIED UNDER FAIXEN WALL. TRAGED3T AT A FIRE. CHICAGO, April 20. ■ More than 20 firemen are believed to have been killed and many others injured when the front wall of a four-storey building, which was on fire, suddenly collapsed. The fatality occurred while the firemen were directing streams of water from the street level upon a terrific blaze in a paper box factory located on the upper floor of the structure. The fireman and their apparatus were buried uiidi-r tons of debris. The work of the rescue parties was seriously hampered by tha fact that the collapse of the walis cut off the electric power and plunged the neighbourhood into darkness. It was also feared that other walls might collapse.— (A. and X.Z. Cable.)
