TO-DAY"S SALES. The markets were well supplied with seasonal fruit at the sales to-day, especi-1 ally apples, pears and outdoor grapes., Prices were fairly good, more so in the case of well graded lines. Apples, Delicious, choice graded, 7/ to 11/ a case, inferior, 4/ to 6/; Cox Orange, 10/ to 12/, inferior, 5/ to 7/; Jonathan, 5/ to 7/, special lines, 7/ to 8/. Cooking apples in heavy supply sold at 4/ to 5/6. Cape Gooseberries brought from 4Jd to 7d a pound, according to quality. This is about the most plentiful part of their season. Hothouse srrapes, choice Coleman, 1/6 to 2/, all inferior, 9d to 1/3. Outdoor grapes in tomato cases, 4/ to 6/, Te Kauwhata, in punnets, 8/ to 10/ per crate. Figs. 3/6 to 5/6 a ease. Lemons, choice graded, 15/ to 25/, poor quality, 0/ to 12/. Ripe bananas, choice, 30/ to 35/, inferior, 10/ to 20/. Pears, choice dessert lines, 10/ to 12/, inferior, including Deil's, 4/0 to 0/. Passion fruit, first class, 4/ to 5/, inferior, 2/6 to 3/. Tomatoes, choice lines, 6/ to S/, inferior, 2/ to 4/. Californian oranges, ex Mauiiganui, are due next week, via Wellington. In the produce section there was a wide variety of vegetables. Watermelons are plentiful, kumaras are coming in, and potatoes were more plentiful than was expected. Eggs were in short supply, and took a sharp rise in price. Hen eggs reached from 2/4 to 2/6 a dozen, duck from •2/ to 2/4, and pullet from 1/11 to 2/1 J. Farmers' butter, not always marketed in an attractive form, averaged 1/4 a pound. . In the poultry section heavy cockerels sold at from 3/9 to 5/6 each, light 2/ to 3/0. heavy hens 2/6 to 4/, light 1/6 to 2/0. Ducks, young, 3/ to 4/, drakes, young, 2/6 to 3/9, old ducks and drakes, 2/3 to 3/3.
