DEEP SEA FISHING.

Anglers at Russell have had some rare sport lately, and next week will see about twenty more sportsmen here to enjoy this exciting pastime. Among the catches are: Mr. E. li. Barnes, of London, one sv.ordtisli, 2701b; Mr. Falkiner, of Australia, two mako sharks, 3291b and 21,51b: Mr. Keed (aged SO), two mako sharks, 3271b and 2301b, two swordiish, 1901b and 2701b, and one kinglish. 1001b. Four of these fish were caught the same day within an hour or two of each other. The fish were all weighed and certified for by the Bay of Islands Mako Shark and Swordfish Club.
