HOAXING A BISHOP.
VICARS LITTLE JOKE. UNPLEASANT MANX EPISODE. LONDON, January 2. - A practical joke was played on the Bishop of Sodor and Man. and caused' a sensation in the Isle of Man. The bishop received a hoaxing telegram summoning him to the mainland, compelling him to abandon speaking in the local Parliament on the lUnnv Church Assembly Bill. The Rev. Karran, vicar of Marathan. confessed that he instigated the telegram. The disclosures have shocked Church circles.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
