THE STEAMER PRUTH.
ASHORE ON NATTEARA REEF. (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. A wireless message has been received stating that the 6teamer Pruth, from New York, is ashore on Natteara Reef outside Port Moresby. Her position is dangerous. She has asked for assistance, which is being sent from Brisbane. Grave fears are entertained owing to the exposed position of the reef. The Pruth is 4698 tons.—(A. and N.Z.)
